Ministries at Christ Church
Christ Church has a Youth Group for young people from 6th grade through Senior in High School. The Youth Group meets on the first and third Monday of the month during the school year. We have activities as announced during the summer.
On Fridays, we do Prayer Walks on Main Street or at times we have a Prayer Table set up outside the church to offer prayer for the community and to any individuals who accept our offer for prayer.
We reach out to the hungry at Christ Church through our Hunger Ministry. We offer food that doesn't need to be prepared to any in need of food who come by, packed in a reusable tote bag. We welcome donations of non-perishable food that doesn't need to be prepared (e.g. canned ravioli, Spaghetti-O's, individually wrapped energy bars) or cash donations to purchase food items (checks can be made payable to "Rector's Discretionary Fund" and mailed to Christ Church, 300 N. Main St, Herkimer, NY 13350).
Daughters of the King, Mother Theresa Chapter
The Mother Theresa chapter of the Daughters of the King is devoted to prayer. We pray for our clergy and for all those who request our prayers. We commit to holding up in prayer all those who request it, always respecting the confidentiality of those who request prayer.
Order of St. Luke
The Order of St. Luke is committed to bringing the healing power of Jesus to those who need it. We pray for physical healing, but also inner healing, generational healing, and any healing that is needed to bring us closer to Christ. Healing ministers are present at every Sunday service, and we have a Eucharist service with a special time of healing on the second Saturday of every month at 7:00 p.m..
Lay Eucharistic Visitors
Our Lay Eucharistic Visitors bring Holy Communion to our home-bound parishioners and distribute communion to the residents of Valley Health Services long-term care and rehabilitation facility every Sunday at approximately 10:45 am.
